BMW E87 E90 Window Motor Reset Procedure

Placeholder
  1. Remove the window motor from the window regulator

  2. Reconnect the window motor to the door harness

  3. Using the door switch, power the window motor in both directions for approximately 30 TURNS or until it stops on its own. This will allow the window motor to lose its memory.

  4. Confirm memory is lost by auto pressing the window switch; the motor gear should rotate approximately 1/2 a turn only and stop. This needs to be confirmed before continuing.

  5. Unplug the window motor. You can now bolt it onto the window regulator, mount into door, lock the glass hole into the slider clamp and plug the motor harness in.

  6. CLOSE the car door and start engine (to regulate vehicle battery voltage) to commence memory relearn procedure.

  7. From either the passenger door you're working on, or from the main switch panel, power and hold the switch until the glass is in the closed position. Once the glass is fully closed, hold the switch for a further 2 secs and release.

  8. Testing Motor Reprogram has been learnt. Auto up (one touch express close) the glass should auto up and rest in the closed position. Auto down (one touch express open) the glass should auto down and rest all the way down.

Notes:
- Motor Memory will not set with the door open. Auto up will not work with door open.
- If step 3 & 4 are not completed correctly, and the window motor has not lost its original memory, the motor will not relearn the new memory (position) and therefore anti-pinch will activate (glass will drop approximately halfway when asked to auto up)
